On Tuesday March 17, 2020, the Province of Alberta declared a state of emergency under the Public Health Act. This Act allows the government to take additional steps to help keep us all safe, some this can include restricting public gatherings and closing facilities and businesses.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
All events over 15 people, including weddings, funerals, and religious services are to be cancelled.
-
People must continue to observe two meters of social distancing.
-
All recreation centers, casinos, bingo halls, bars, theaters or other public facilities are closed. This does NOT include grocery stores.
-
There are new restrictions in place for close contact businesses, dine-in restaurants and non-essential retail services.
Mandatory 14-day self-isolation for returning international travellers or close contacts of people with confirmed COVID-19.
Mandatory 10-day self-isolation for people with symptoms that are not related to a pre-existing illness or health condition: cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose or sore throat.
WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER
Stay home and self-isolate if you are sick. Do not go to ER to be tested.
-
Wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
-
Limit your visits to people who are most at risk: Elders, those with chronic disease or who have another illness such as Cancer.
-
If you have symptoms, complete the self assessment tool online first, then call 811 for further instructions.
